Family Caregiver Support Program

Comprehensive peninsula-wide support, respite care assistance, equipment loans, and guidance for anyone caring for a senior.

Who It Serves: Anyone caring for an adult age 60+ or an individual living with Alzheimer's, dementia, or chronic health conditions.
Service Schedule: Monday – Friday: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM (Appointments & Phone Consultation)
Cost / Contribution: Free support services; grant assistance available for respite care.

You Are a Caregiver Even If You Do Not Call Yourself One

If you assist a spouse, aging parent, grandparent, friend, or neighbor with meals, rides, medications, or daily safety—you are a caregiver.

Our Family Caregiver Support Program serves families across the entire Kenai Peninsula—not just Nikiski.

Services Available

  • Respite Care Support: Financial grants and vouchers to arrange temporary caregiving relief.
  • Assistive Equipment Loan Closet: Wheelchairs, walkers, shower chairs, ramps, and incontinence supplies.
  • Education & Support Groups: Monthly peer meetings, dementia care workshops, and caregiver stress management.
  • Transportation & Taxi Vouchers: Supplemental transportation assistance for caregiver appointments.
  • Information & System Navigation: Assistance navigating Medicare, Medicaid waiver programs, and community resources.
